Ultimately, Jesus is the head of our church and we all submit to him.

We are currently in the process of seeking the Lord about additional elders/pastors. An Advisory Team was formed in May 2026 and will be meeting in order to provide next steps for the church. We look forward with expectation to how the Lord will lead us!

Ben Muir

Co-Pastor/Elder

Ben has been at Southfield since 2002 and has been a pastor/elder since November, 2019. Ben was the worship pastor for over 8 years, handing it over to Jacob Griffin when he became an elder.

Ben’s other vocation is being the director at the UT-Arlington Baptist Student Ministry. He is a graduate of UT-Arlington and got his masters at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Ben has a deep love for baseball (a lifelong Rangers fan) but also appreciates any physical activity. Ultimate frisbee, mountain climbing, and backpacking are at the top of his list of hobbies.

Ben is married to Shauna and they are happy to call Arlington home. They have four children: Jason, Sadie, Adeline, and Carter.

Jacob Griffin

Worship Leader

Jacob has been at Southfield since 2011 when he came as a college student at UT-Arlington, where he got his bachelor's degree in Social Work and was a student leader at the Baptist Student Ministry.

Jacob is currently the DFW Operations Manager for an international HVAC manufacturer and distributor.

Jacob lives in Arlington with his wife Madison, whom he has been happily married to since March 2019. They have two children, Amos and Eden.

He has a creative mind and is passionate about combining scripture with singing, that the Word of Christ may dwell richly in our church (Colossians 3:16).

Barb Krekow

Administrative Assistant/The One Who Makes It All Work

Barb has been at Southfield since the late ‘90s. She and her late husband, Ed, both spent time on the mission field. Barb has a heart for seeing the gospel spread among the nations.

Barb is an invaluable resource and really makes everything work at Southfield. She is loved very much!

denise muir

Bookkeeper

Denise has been married to Jim since 1985. They raised their family at Southfield and have loved seeing God work in so many lives throughout the years.

She makes sure all of the church finances are in order, as well as handling much of the church communication.

Denise loves to go to the mountains of Colorado and spend time with her grandkids, of which she has eleven!
